Our old pan set had seen better days. We’d had it for nigh on 20 years and they were beginning to look a little the worse for wear so my partner, Adam, decided to spend a little time on Amazon to see if he could find a relatively good quality, non stick, set to replace it.
Having weighed up the pros and cons, he made his choice and ordered the set – one small, one medium and one large; each with a see through lid. The parcel duly arrived and we did, indeed find that we had the set we’d ordered but, unfortunately, on inspection one of the lids was broken. The plastic knob on top of the lid had shattered so there was nothing to grab hold of when the pot was boiling.
Adam contacted Amazon who asked him to return it and they’d refund him, which, as we’d come to expect from Amazon, they did pretty swiftly.
Adam then began trawling through Amazon searching for the same pan set and came across one. He ordered it; we received delivery and looked forward to using the new set.
At the time of the delivery I was working upstairs in our office and suddenly, above my headphones (which I wear when I’m carrying out transcription work) I could hear distinct disgruntled rumblings from beneath!! There then followed the sound of a heavy tread on the stairs and Adam burst into the office.
“I can’t believe it!” he exclaimed. “The pans are fine, the lids are fine but … we haven’t exactly got the pans we wanted. We’ve got two large pans with lids and two small lids without the pans”!
I couldn’t believe it! Amazon are always top notch when it comes to their deliveries but on this occasion they’d mucked up big time.
Adam once more returned them to Amazon, was duly refunded and started looking once more, his thinking being that it’d be “third time lucky”.
He re-ordered the set and we awaited delivery. The package arrived this morning and Adam opened the parcel with some trepidation. Eureka!! We had a small pan with lid (undamaged), a medium pan with lid (undamaged) and a large pan with lid (undamaged).
I just hope and pray that I don’t drop one of them on first use and either break the lid or dent the pan!! Fingers crossed eh?
